Chai-Tea-Indianlife-Chai-BG

Sweet, spicy and rejuvenating for the senses, chai is the perfect drink for chilly days! And to celebrate American Thanksgiving with our US friends, this recipe combines everyone’s fall fave pumpkin spice with healthy Indianlife Chai Masala and brown sugar!

Serves 2 to 4 people

Pumpkin Spice Blend:

1 cup pumpkin puree 3/4 cup raw brown sugar (substitute raw coconut sugar if desired) 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon 1 tablespoon ground cloves 1 tablespoon vanilla extract 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg 1 pinch of salt

Pumpkin Spice Preparation:

Combine pumpkin spice base ingredients together in a large bowl. Mix well until all ingredients are incorporated. Time-saving tip: Make double batches and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Chai Tea Ingredients:

1/2 to 1 teaspoon Indianlife Chai Masala spice 4 cups water 2 tablespoons loose-leaf black tea (or substitute 6 black tea bags) 1 to 3 cups milk of your choice (Dairy or non-dairy – to taste and consistency you want)

Tea Preparation:

Step 1: Brew Tea – Pour water into a medium pan and add Chai Masala spice. Simmer on medium heat for 5 minutes. Add tea and steep, then strain.

Step 2: Combine Pumpkin Spice Base and Milk – Add the pumpkin spice base and milk to a medium saucepan. Set the stovetop to medium high heat and simmer for 5 minutes. An immersion blender can be used to add some froth to the milk mixture.

Step 3: Combine and Serve – Add the tea concentrate and pumpkin spice milk blend to your tea cup. Bon appetit!
